Services - Lake and Dam Engineering

JEWELL provides comprehensive solutions when developing new or renovating existing lakes, dams, reservoirs, and detention ponds. Our beginning-to-end capabilities include hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of existing systems, identification of candidate solutions, detailed system analysis and engineering design, project permitting, construction plan and specification preparation, sediment and erosion control plan preparation, and construction administration.

JEWELL also prepares Emergency Action Plan (EAP) documents for dam owners to comply with requirements of the North Carolina Dam Safety Program and other similar programs. Our services include full EAP document preparation and submittal or inundation mapping only to assist owners that choose to prepare the EAP document on their own. Inundation mapping can be performed using Simple Inundation Maps (SIMS), GeoDam-Breach modeling, or detailed hydraulic analysis, depending on the project.
