Timber Ridge Lake Dam Inundation Map
Client: Timber Ridge Lake Dam Owner
Services provided in this project:
The Timber Ridge Lake Dam is less than 35 feet in height and impounds less than 750 acre-feet, classifying it as a small dam based on NCDENR guidelines. Because this is a small dam with an easily-identified number of downstream structures, the inundation map was prepared using the Simplified Inundation Map method. The inundation map delineates the extent of expected flooding from a dam failure and depicts the downstream properties and roads that would be affected as well as structures that are discernable from aerial photography. Each parcel within the inundation boundary is labeled on the map with a Map ID and listed in a table of affected parcels. The table provides the current property owner data according to county records.
The Timber Ridge Lake Dam owner opted to prepare her own Emergency Action Plan and Jewell provided the inundation map and list of affected parcels to be included in the document.
