Amy Black

February, 2013 - JEWELL Engineering is pleased to congratulate Amy Black on the re-instatement of her Professional Engineer’s license. Amy returned to the profession after an extended career break to devote full-time effort to her family, including homeschooling her two sons, Daniel and David. Amy earned a Civil Engineering degree from North Carolina State University in 1990 and obtained her Professional Engineer’s license while working for the Orange Water and Sewer Authority.

Amy re-entered the engineering world with JEWELL in 2011, working part-time while continuing to support her sons as they complete high school with combined homeschool and community college curricula. She has progressed steadily to restore her engineering skills and expertise. In recent months, Amy has completed formal training as a HEC-RAS flood profile modeler and has become proficient in the use of ARC-GIS and AutoCAD. We congratulate her on this achievement and look forward to her continued contributions as we serve the Water Resources Engineering needs of our clients.
