Amy Black

September, 2011 – Jewell Engineering Consultants (JEC) is pleased to announce the hiring of a new employee, Amy Black, PE (inactive). Amy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University. Following graduation, she worked for a subsurface remediation consulting firm where she was responsible for the permitting, monitoring and operation of land treatment facilities for several active petroleum refineries. In addition to consulting, Amy has worked for a water and sewer agency where she was responsible for project management for infrastructure extension and rehabilitation projects. She worked with other local and state regulatory agencies for the planning and permitting of water and sewer projects. She managed Sewer System Evaluation Studies to locate and eliminate inflow and infiltration into the collection system. Amy left the water and sewer agency to become a stay-at-home mom to her two sons while providing AutoCAD services on a part-time basis to an environmental services company. Amy joined JEWELL Engineering in the fall of 2011 and has already participated in several design projects and CLOMR/LOMR applications by performing AutoCAD, GIS, and HEC-RAS modeling support. Amy is a member with the American Society of Civil Engineers. Amy resides in Kernersville, NC with her husband and two sons. We are very excited to have Amy join our engineering staff and look forward to her continued contributions to the JEWELL Team.
