News - Conover Station Stormwater Wetland Design
March 8 , 2011
JEWELL Engineering Consultants has been selected by the City of Conover, NC, to design a stormwater wetland for the Conover Station Development Project, an active downtown brownfield redevelopment project located in the heart of Conover.
The wetland will be receiving runoff from an urbanized watershed of approximately 53 acres, with ten and a half acres of that area coming directly from the Conover Station development site. Current plans are for a wetland of about 3 acres that is situated in a passive recreation park that includes walking trails, interpretive environmental exhibits, and a covered pavilion.
JEWELL’s work includes hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, preliminary and final site design, wetland plant selection and planting plan, permitting, preparation of construction drawings and specifications, bidding support, and construction certification.
